Beneath the Sky - Leaving a Mark

Occasionally, when swimming in a sea mediocrity a band emerges that changes the face of modern metalcore forever. Though their tenure as a band was relatively brief, their legacy still lives on today. The relentless brutality behind their songwriting and emotionally charged lyricism continues to influence modern metalcore acts today. Formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, they emerged during a time when modern metalcore was still finding its footing. Metalcore was stepping out of the underground and into the mainstream spotlight.

          Creating a sound that was centered on blistering riffs and crushing breakdowns, along with harsh vocals that stood out in the scene they quickly rose through the ranks and garnered significant attention with a devoted underground following. Their music found a way to balance emotional intensity with soft melodic undertones. Their songs resonated with listeners because they took risks and created a sound that was built on raw intensity and passion.

          The band’s reputation was built far beyond their studio recordings but through their energetic, charismatic live performance. Every show they played was driven by connecting with their fans and forming lasting relationships that they still appear to be grateful for to this day.           Though it has been roughly twelve years since their final performance in 2014, their legacy continues to echo through the rooms and ears that heard 7861 for the first time. Their songs remain emotive and powerful, determined to break away from common metalcore tropes, they didn’t follow trends they created them.
