Though Neck Deep did not catch my attention until their second album “Life’s Not Out To Get You” I am glad I boarded this train. They are one of the best pop punk bands to come out of the UK. Catchy hooks sprinkled throughout pop punk bliss. With Ben Barlow’s voice at the helm, each track since their second record soars and they have learned from some of the greats. With a  live show on the books for October it will be nice to see them pull off their magic live.

Touring pretty much nonstop since their inception with breaks here and there, neck deep have truly made a name for themselves that sets them apart from other acts in the genre. Seeing them on tour with The Story So Far will be a dream come true, and I cannot wait for them to take the stage with another great band in the genre. Their 2020 album was completely slept on due to the pandemic, and I truly believe it should have been given more attention.

Standout tracks from their catalog include “Kick up the roots”, “In Bloom” and “Sunderland” I need to still fully digest their newest record but picking a standout from that album should be easy. It is great to see that they have not lost momentum over the years and truly have solidified themselves as visionaries in the genre. It is easy to see why they are one of the front runners in the pop punk revival next to the story so far.

The band is about to drop a deluxe edition of their self-titled record that appears to be truly great. It is truly impressive to see a band spearheading the pop punk revival in such a unique way. In hopes that a new record is on the horizon, it is possible that it will be produced by Will Yip. I am hopeful that he can take their sound to the next level. If the new single is any indication, it will be one of their best.

Neck deep has proven repeatedly that they have created their own unique spin on the pop punk mythos, and they are here to stay. Neck Deep’s future is shining bright, and they appear to have the courage and charisma to reach it.
